Lake Matheson Motel has been in business as a New Zealand West Coast accommodation since 1988. The original Fox Glacier accommodation was built by George and Dorothy Halsey, and is still owned by the same family. Today it is run by Fox Glacier residents John, Myra and their son Jamie. Their love of South Westland is reflected in their knowledge of the area, and their desire to share that knowledge and enthusiasm with you.

Our motto is 'Simply Nice'. By this, we mean we aim to provide simple rooms with nice fittings, facilities and service. We provide rooms which are focussed on quality basics such as cleanliness, excellent heating, good comfortable Sleepyhead beds made with cotton sheets, new Flatscreen TV's, good shower pressure, quality towels, good internet access and excellent undercover parking for those wet West Coast days. We don't aim to be the best accommodation you will ever stay in, but aim to offer modern, clean and comfortable rooms for a good price.
